St Sophia Cathedral in Harbin

St Sophia Church began building as a wooden church in 1907, and rebuilt of masonry in 1912, on Shuidao Street in Pristan (Bùtóu) district, Harbin.

To accommodate an outgrowing parish, construction of a new temple on Toulong Street in Butou District began in September of 1923. After almost a decade, it was finally consecrated on December 12/25, 1932 as the new Hagia Sofia.

It still stands to this day at 95, Tòulóng Street, Dàolǐ District, and is also the largest in the Far East.
