Fr Anikita (Gr. Aniketos/Anicetus) Wang was ordained to the diakonate on November 5, 1950 and to the priesthood on November 19, 1950 by Archbishop Victor. From 1957 until its closing in 1958, Fr Anikita was the priest-in-charge of St Sergei Church located north of the Yimianpo train station. He also served as the seventh and last rector of St Nicholas Cathedral in Harbin. During the Cultural Revolution, a metal bucket was placed on his head and he was led between rows of activists who hit the bucket with sticks until Fr Anikita succumbed to his death in 1967.
