"Youth", the children's and youth choir from Moscow, familiarizes EXPO 2010 guests in Shanghai with Russian folk music

On July 23, 2010 with the blessing of Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, "Youth", Moscow's Choir of the Church of the Life Giving Trinity, took part in a choral arts festival in the Chinese city of Shaoxing. The Church of the Life Giving Trinity is the Patriarchal Representation in the estate "Sviblovo", headed by Archpriest Sergei Kiselyov, priest-in-charge and dean of the parishes in the Trinity (Troitsky) region.

With the support and organization of the directorate of the Russian pavilion the choir gave a concert on the European pavilion at the Expo park, singing Russian folk songs. The polyphonic 'a capella' singing of Moscow's children and youth group attracted many listeners. As a result the choir took 2nd prize.

On July 24, the day the Church remembers Holy Princess Olga, there was a festive divine service in St. Nicholas Church, whose adornment was the large church choir. The divine service attended by Consuls General of Belarus, Bulgaria and Ukraine; the leadership of the local area Luwan Chi; M.V. Drosdov, Chairman of the Russian Club in Shanghai, as well as parishioners and guests of Shanghai.

After the divine service, Archpriest Sergei Kiselev expressed thanks for the opportunity to serve and pray in the temple, once served by St. John of Shanghai, through whose prayers and labors this wonderul temple was built. Also, Father Sergius gave mementos to the community and to all those present.
