Gift of Irkutsk Metropolitan to Orthodox parish in Hong Kong

On the feast of the Protection of the Mother of God with the blessing of His Eminence Vadim, Metropolitan of Irkutsk, the gift to the Hong Kong parish in the name of Apostles Saints Peter and Paul was transferred the icon of St. Innocent of Irkutsk with a particle of his relics. The icon was brought to Hong Kong by the cleric of Irkutsk diocese priest Alexander Abiduev who with the clergy of the parish prayed on the day of this solemn event.

St. Innocent - the patron saint of the Orthodox Church in China. He was the first Orthodox bishop who received the appointment to head the Beijing Mission. In China, several temples were consecrated in honor of this saint , in particular, the temple in city of E'erguna in the Autonomous Region of Inner Mongolia, and the temple in Beijing, located on the territory of the Russian Embassy (Beiguan) .
