In Beijing there was a celebratory commemoration of the Holy Martyrs of China

The Divine Liturgy was served in the Dormition Church by Archpriest D. Pozdnyaev; after the Divine Liturgy there was a litiya in memory of those killed during the Boxer Rebellion. It was served at the memorial cross on the territory of the Russian Embassy. This year, the memory of the Holy Martyrs of China coincides with the Day of the Holy Spirit. This day is traditionally considered the day of the founding of the Chinese Church because the first Orthodox bishop for China - Bp. Innokenty (Figurovsky) - was consecrated as a bishop on this day, one year after the Yihetuan revolt.
