Ukase concerning order in church services.

To avoid confusion and misunderstanding when several clergy are serving together, the order of seniority according to consecration is to be observed: archimandrites stand according to seniority in their elevation, archpriests according to seniority when they were made archpriests, other priests according to seniority of ordination. The same order is to be observed by deacons, subdeacons and readers, although it is not forbidden to voluntarily yield the honor to one's brother for some reason. Clergy who arrive late for the beginning of the service are to stand at the end of the row of clergy so as not to cause confusion during the service, for the grace of God rests upon them equally wherever they stand before the Lord God.
