The "Christianity in the Far East" conference included participants from Japan and Hong Kong, such as Bishop Seraphim of Sendai (Japanese Autonomous Orthodox Church), Archpriest Ioann Nagaya of the Podvorie (Representation) of Patriarch Alexis in Tokyo (who graduated from St. Petersburg Seminary during Soviet time and later served on the faculty at the Theology Department at Thessaloniki University, and is fluent in Russian and Greek), and Archpriest Dionisy Pozdnyaev of the Brotherhood of Sts Peter & Paul (Moscow Patriarchate) in Hong Kong.
