On July 14th, 2006 the chairman of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan KYRILL of Smolensk and Kaliningrad met A.G.Karlov, the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
During the meeting current questions of developing Russian-Korean relations, problems of overcoming the tragic division of the Korean people, the subject of promoting Orthodoxy on the Korean peninsula were discussed.
