On May 26, Metropolitan KYRILL of Smolensk, Chairman of the MP's Department of External Church Relations, met in the Department's offices with the deputy chairman of the PRC's Religious Affairs Bureau (RAB), Mr. Jiang Jianyong. The delegation also included the deputy chairman of RAB's Center for the Study of Religion, Mr. Zhang Xunmou, the chief of the 2nd division of RAB's 4th department for Orthodox issues, Mrs. Wang Yanming and a staff member of PRC's Eastern Europe Department.
The visit to Russia by the head of the PRC's Religious Affairs Bureau, Ye Xiaowen was discussed at the meeting, as well issues pertaining to the development of relations with the Russian Orthodox Church.
D. I. Petrovsky, a member of DECR's staff, also participated in the meeting.
